Networking of organizations involved with water resources and environment management from partner municipalities: (e-networking, holding collaborative workshops, establishing partnerships) with the purpose of exchanging experiences and jointly undertaking long-term measures for flood and environment management
The partner municipalities, as the project applicants and co-applicants, will have the main roles in the project implementation. Their roles and responsibilities for realisation of the project activities are distributed equally since the activities to be undertaken in each municipality are very similar, i.e. the same but customised to the specificities of the problems and local conditions.
Important role in the implementation will have the associate partner – the University of Niš. Its role will be to provide consultations for using GIS in the flood vulnerability mapping and cooperate with the external service providers in that field (activity B), to provide consultations in terms of compliance of the flood barriers installation with best EU practice (activity D), to moderate the first collaborative workshop dedicated to the flood vulnerability maps analysis (activity F), to participate at the two joint meetings for the flood vulnerability maps re-assessment and joint strategy development (activity I), and to participate at the kick-off event (activity A). These roles have been assigned to the University of Niš due to their studies within the Faculty of Electronic Engineering (in the domains of GIS appliance) and the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture (in the domain of hydrology and compliance of the flood barriers with best EU practice).
